Thank you for your delightful "Letter" to us, you're readers.

My daughter lives in Texas but is so busy working, she doesn't have time for a Garden, but does spend time outdoors daily. This gives me a peek into her "outside" beyond what she shares, so thank you!

Very beautiful cake decor! God's bounty is always beautiful!

Be blessed as you so very often bless us! 💐

p.s. your dress is gorgeous, as is your smile

May I be as graceful in a few more years! 🙏🏼

I sure appreciate your kind words, my daughter is working too, but I got my 13 yr old granddaughter growing flowers when she's not crafting or putting makeup on her flawless skin or running track.

GodsSparrow's avatar

Sounds fantastic, and so common~ the young covering what's absolutely naturally beautiful LOL

She sounds amazing already~ growing flowers and crafting!

It is said that grandparents have a bigger spiritual influence on their grandchildren than their own parents have!

Our little garden will never make the centerfold of Garden Magazine, but we have any number of happy plants. I particularly enjoy the "volunteers" from last year. So far it's been mostly potato and tomato plants. But it's all good.

I love your cleverness and wit with words as much as Anita's!

David is a very thoughtful man I think, from reading his comments over time.

Thanks, Robyn. When you get to my age, words are just about all that's left.

That's too funny, David! I can't stop giggling! Half my giggles are nervous laughter 😜. In two months I hit the age The Beatles' song is about. When I'm 64. Well, I have no one to still need me or feed me when I'm 64. I'm fully independent after 3 failed tries because my "picker" is perpetually broken. 😆

Dear Robyn~

Perhaps....you see the ones that need fertilizer, good soil, tender pruning, some sunshine and gentle rain, even artesian well water, and they just can't do anything but fight the love.

Like trying to grow rocks...

You have a beautiful heart, it's evident.

Robyn is a blessing to many. I know we'll meet some day👼🏼

GodsSparrow's avatar

I was thinking the same thing when I responded to her own comment. Yes indeed 👑

Anita, when I see you standing in that Sweet By and By some day, I will run up to you with a heavenly hug around your bejeweled, righteous gown, and I'll kiss your rosie cheek and royal crown! We'll go worship the Lord in the Throne Room and sing His praises together in perfect pitch, no more fears neither chigger-induced tears nor maddening itch! There's more to your blog than a chronicle about country living, and its fruit's gonna make it into your book of life as part of your testimony that brings glory to our Creator!

Thank-you, I finally have no words, just so needed the affirmation of fellow saints as wind beneath my wings. Anita's blog attracts butterflies who pollinate with words! So good!

GodsSparrow's avatar

🦋 Butterfly is actually my daughter's nickname. I tell her we can pollinate with God's words and hope.

Life is hard. It can't be done well alone. "Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ." Reminds of of John Bunyan's work, The Pilgrim's Progress.

Remember the slew of despondency? At this age, easy to fall into it after much loss, grief and trauma. The great Puritans and the American Pioneers hopes were set above!

I look out an East window and greet the Lord each morning~ the Sun of Righteousness with healing in His wings (Malachi) 🙏🏼🌞👑

Before I read your blogs, Anita, I've come to say a little prayer which goes something like this, "Dear Lord, as usual, Anita's blog will be like a garden to explore with so many wonderful gates leading down many paths of interest. I will want to share so much but need to limit my comments to address one thing. Help me decide and help me limit!" Of course, I could just answer your question at the end in under 250 characters. Lol. I'll stop here and not share about the green anole lizard I name Anatoli the Anole who lived on my front porch in rural Georgia. I'll neither go into my chigger woes nor lament over broken garden hoes. From sturdy tools to fertile soils and hearty seeds, it's the everything in between that begs our help to meet the need. Gardening takes perseverance and patience which helps produce not only a harvest to eat, but builds character for future feats!

Ok, Robyn I'm still waiting for you to start a blog.you don't need to limit your comments, you need to write an essay about each of those gates opening on areas of interest!! Meanwhile I was hoping you had a cure for itching bites!

Hi, my beloved sister-in-Christ! Thanks for the reminder. I'm getting close to launching, "Notes from the Robyn's Nest". So, actually, a friend turned me on to a sulfur soap that one uses in the shower as soon as coming in from outdoor work in chigger country. Think: "No Country for Old (Wo)Men", 2007, 4 academy awards thriller/ western with Tommy Lee Jones and Josh Brolin, "known for its stark violence, sparse dialogue, and philosophical themes". Sounds a lot like chiggers to me. I call them sexual predator bugs as they go for the undergarment areas on ladies. And their wounds are violent for sure, taking 6 weeks to heal on me and leaving lasting scars. These buggers are silent, stealth, and elicit a philisophical response full of expletives!

There are many brands of sulfur bars ranging from $3 to $9 a piece. Active ingredient is sulfur, of course. The bar I used had exfoliation grit to it, too. That worked effectively. I only got one chigger bite in 2 weeks of outdoor work (covered head to toe and saturated with repellent as a first line defense). Thanks for grace with my insufferable verbosity!

Good morning Lady of "The Robyn's Nest" 🪺

👉🏼LEHMAN'S has LYE SOAP🧼 They have a plethora of everything useful; lye and pine tar soaps, Amish made canner baths, and....GARDEN TOOLS!

Also, IDK if it would work on chiggers, but I make a natural deer flies/flea/tick repellent I use on dogs, me & horses that works phenomenally. All ORGANIC as I live with inoperable C-word. ***organic is more potent.

Soak organic LEMONGRASS in distilled water, some 91% rubbing alcohol. Once concentrated, add essential oils such as geranium, garlic (do your research). Spray shoes/clothing/animals.

I also soak garlic in olive oil and use as my lotion post-shower.

This is super info! I use God's plants, too, to support health! Thanks! Praying for you! When Big C is for you, little c is in trouble! There are many more healthy cells for you than the sickly ones mobilized against you. May your immune system cells march 7 times round their holdout and blow the mitochondria shofar so enemy cell walls fall down and shalom body peace rushes in delivering Christ's resurrection healing power to turn the tide once for all! (Just a way for me to visualize victory as I intercede for you in the Name of Jesus. 🤗 ) 🙏 Your great attitude is good medicine!

GodsSparrow's avatar

Oh my gosh, I love this! Epic! Visual. Walls of Jericho, the Shofar that drives the enemy away, yes and the 5 stones of David for Goliath! 🙌🏼 Victory in Jesus! "I shall live and not die, and declare the works of the Lord." King David Psalm I believe. King Jehosephat and God fighting while they prayed and worshipped is one of my favorites. 3 days taking the spoil. THANK YOU, 🙏🏼 needed. 💝🤗🙌🏼
